Wonderful little spot with three adorable capybaras! It was an incredible experience feeding and patting them up close. We even got to get a cozy with them on the beds. The staff were also very friendly and informative. Overall great experience. Would recommend!

Such a fun experience to meet the Capybaras and play with them! They are so adorable, gentle, and friendly. Staff was very nice too and we had a great time overall. It ended too soon! I could play with them all day! Haha. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Tokyo!

I found this place on TikTok and it did not disappoint! The Capy’s are adorable. The staff is professional and kind - they took their time and explained everything well. They really did everything they could to help you have a great experience and get great pics while respecting the animals. They do require a reservation - so book before you arrive. It was very very worth it. A memory my kids won’t forget!

This was an incredible experience! The staff was great and it was so cool to hang with the capybaras! They had a great outdoor area on a rooftop for them to get fresh air!

Things to Do around Shinjuku & Ikebukuro
If you are looking for things to do in Shinjuku or Ikebukuro, a 40-minute capybara session is an easy addition to your day, since Takadanobaba sits right between them on the JR Yamanote Line. There is no food menu, so it works well right before lunch or dinner: meet the capybaras, then head off to eat in Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, or Takadanobaba’s famous ramen streets. It is a good option on a rainy day too: sessions are held indoors (only the balcony stays closed in wet weather), and the cafe is about a 10-minute walk from Ochiai Station.
It is a comfortable stop for any age, and a change of pace from the crowds of Shinjuku. Unlike many animal cafes, the rooms are kept spotless with almost no animal smell: the drink corner is separate from the interaction area, and the capybaras bathe twice a day. When a long day of shopping and sightseeing starts to wear you out, settling into the calm, Japanese-style room with the capybaras is a good way to recover.
Sessions are reservation-only, so book a time slot in advance and plan the rest of your day around it.
