Philosophy

Our philosophy is “Three-Way Happiness”: the well-being of the capybaras, the guests, and the staff, kept in balance. When all three are looked after properly, the rest tends to follow.

1. For the Capybaras

We give our capybaras a safe, comfortable environment with plenty to do: proper facilities, climate control, and enclosures designed with care. Each capybara gets balanced nutrition, regular medical checkups, gentle daily care, and behavioral training.

2. For Our Guests

We want every guest to leave CAPPINESS with a memory that stays with them: a peaceful, happy time that becomes one of the highlights of their trip to Japan. We keep looking for ways to do that better.

3. For Our Staff

Happy staff are the foundation of everything else. We provide ongoing training and support in hospitality, English communication, animal care, and safety management, so each team member can grow with confidence and take pride in the work.

A team that works together, keeps learning, and respects one another makes for a warm atmosphere, and guests notice it.

Founder’s Message

Visiting animal cafes over the years, I often came away sad and frustrated. I saw animals kept in poor conditions without proper care or enrichment, guests treated as numbers rather than people, and staff working hard without fair pay or respect.

In those moments, one thought became clear to me:
“If no one is doing it right, then I must.”

That is how CAPPINESS began: an honest place, where animals are treated with care, guests are made welcome, and staff can take pride in what they do.

We want to show what an animal cafe can be. Here the animals are partners rather than props, guests are part of the story rather than a number, and every member of the team is valued and respected.

That is what “Three-Way Happiness” means to us, and it is what we will keep working toward.
